Agreement
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Script Bible ("we," "us," or "our") that governs your use of the Script Bible app and the websites, software, and services that link to these Terms (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.
Eligibility
Reading, searching, and studying the Bible through the Service is available to users of all ages and does not require an account. Account registration is limited to users who are at least thirteen (13) years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live but old enough to register, you may create an account only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. We may suspend or close any account we believe was created in violation of this section.
The Service
Script Bible offers Bible reading, search, cross-references, notes, bookmarks, reading progress and statistics, reading plans, settings, offline access, and account features. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
Accounts
Some features require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, the security of your password, and everything that happens under your account. Please tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Access accounts, systems, or data without permission.
- Interfere with, scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service.
- Bypass rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions.
- Upload content that is unlawful, harmful, infringing, or abusive.
- Reverse engineer the Service, except where the law permits.
- Use the Service to break the law or to violate someone else's rights.
We may investigate suspected violations and limit, suspend, or end access as needed.
Your Content
You keep ownership of the notes, bookmarks, reading data, and other content you create. You give us permission to store, process, display, back up, and transmit your content as needed to provide the Service. Data stored on your device is your responsibility to back up or delete.
Scripture Texts and Intellectual Property
The King James Version and World English Bible texts used in the Service are in the public domain. The Script Bible software, design, branding, and other materials are protected by intellectual property laws and remain ours or our licensors'. We grant you a limited, personal, non-commercial license to use the Service. All other rights are reserved.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. By using the Service, you acknowledge that information will be handled as described there.
No Professional Advice
The Service is a reading and study tool. It does not provide legal, medical, financial, counseling, pastoral, theological, or other professional advice. You are responsible for how you understand and apply what you read.
Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers for things like hosting, authentication, and email. Their services are subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
Availability
We try to keep the Service available and reliable, but it may be interrupted, delayed, changed, or discontinued. Offline features depend on your browser, device storage, and cached data.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Script Bible and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or service unavailability arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Termination
We may suspend or end your access to the Service if you break these Terms, if your use creates risk for the Service or other users, or if we stop offering the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination will continue to apply.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. To the fullest extent allowed by law, you and Script Bible each waive any right to a jury trial.
General
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the complete agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest will still apply.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a right or provision, that does not mean we have waived it.
- Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them in connection with a business change.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If the changes are significant, we will give notice by updating the date on this page, posting a notice in the app, or emailing registered users. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
