Zobah was an Aramean city-state or kingdom located in the region of between and , and it figured as a significant adversary of Israel during the reigns of Saul and . Saul fought against the kings of Zobah (1 14:47), and David later defeated son of Rehob, king of Zobah, in a series of campaigns recounted in 2 Samuel 8 and 10 and 1 Chronicles 18 and 19. David captured Hadadezer's officers, took the gold shields of his servants, and subdued the Aramean forces that came to Hadadezer's aid from Damascus. also clashed with Rezon of Zobah, who became an adversary of Israel throughout his reign (1 Kings 11:23–25). The full name 'Aram-zobah' appears in Psalm 60's title as the context of David's campaign.
