What and where is this?
Zelah was a town in the territory of listed among the towns allotted to that tribe in Joshua 18:28. It is best known as the location of the family tomb of Kish, Saul's father, where Saul and were finally buried. After retrieved the bones of Saul and Jonathan from Jabesh-gilead — along with the bones of the seven descendants of Saul executed by the Gibeonites — he had them all buried in Zelah in the sepulchre of Kish (2 Samuel 21:14). The burial is presented as making atonement for the land's prolonged drought. Beyond these notices, the town appears only in tribal boundary lists.
