Who or what is this?

Land of uncertain location, somewhere east of and probably in the borderlands of Edom and Arabia, named as the home of Job. Genealogies in Genesis attach the name to a descendant of and to a son of Nahor, and Lamentations addresses the daughter of Edom dwelling in the land of Uz. Job and his three friends from Teman, Shuah, and inhabit this same wisdom-saturated region on the fringes of Israel's world.
