is a city whose king was defeated by (Joshua 12:17) and that came to define the border between the tribal territories of Ephraim and . The city itself belonged to Ephraim but the surrounding land of Tappuah was allocated to Manasseh (Joshua 16:8; 17:8). It is likely the same city as Tiphsah, mentioned in 2 Kings 15:16 when attacked it because it did not open its gates to him. The town is also mentioned in 1 Chronicles among geographical references, and the spring waters of Tappuah fed the brook Kanah marking part of Ephraim's border.
