Coastal city of the province of north of , the second of the seven churches addressed in Revelation. The risen tells the church that he knows their tribulation and poverty though they are rich, warns of imprisonment and ten days of testing, and calls them to be faithful unto death and receive the crown of life. He promises that the one who conquers will not be hurt by the second death.
