Who or what is this?
Shiloah (or Siloam) refers to the channel or pool that carried water from the Gihon spring into . In 8:6 the Lord rebukes because 'this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly,' contrasting their rejection of quiet trust in God with the great flood to come. In the New Testament the Pool of Siloam (the form of the name) is where sends a man born blind to wash the clay from his eyes, restoring his sight (John 9:7–11). The pool also appears in a passing reference in 13:4, where Jesus mentions that a tower at Siloam fell and killed eighteen people.
