Who or what is this?
Seleucia (Seleucia Pieria) is the seaport of in , situated at the mouth of the Orontes river on the Mediterranean coast. It is mentioned in Acts 13:4 as the point of departure for and when they set out on their first missionary journey, commissioned by the church at Antioch. They sailed from Seleucia to and then on through Minor. The city was founded by Seleucus I Nicator and served as the principal Mediterranean gateway to Antioch, the city that became the hub of the Gentile mission in the New Testament.
