Seirah is the place to which the judge fled after assassinating king of at (Judges 3:26). Having delivered the 'message' from God — a double-edged sword thrust into Eglon's belly — Ehud escaped while Eglon's servants waited, thinking him asleep. He escaped to Seirah in Mount Ephraim and then immediately rallied the , took the fords of the , and led them to kill ten thousand . Seirah appears only in this single episode and its location in the hill country of Ephraim is not more precisely identified.
