What and where is this?

Ramoth in (Ramoth-gilead) is a fortified city east of the in the tribal territory of Gad, designated under as one of the six cities of refuge (Deuteronomy 4:43; Joshua 20:8). It was assigned to the (Joshua 21:38) but remained a contested frontier with Aram-Damascus. King of Israel died in battle attempting to retake it from the Arameans (1 Kings 22), and the city was later the scene of 's anointing and uprising against the house of Ahab (2 Kings 9). had placed one of his twelve administrative officers there (1 Kings 4:13).
