Oboth was one of the stages in the ' wilderness journey, listed in the itinerary of Numbers 21 and repeated in Numbers 33. It appears after Iye-abarim in the account of the journey around the territory of Edom and . Numbers 21:10–11 records that the Israelites set out and camped at Oboth, then moved on to Iye-abarim in the wilderness before Moab. The site receives no further description or narrative significance in the biblical text.
