Peak in the Abarim range east of the from which views the whole of the promised land before his death at the Lord's command. Deuteronomy 34 names Pisgah as its summit and notes that Moses is buried by the Lord in the valley nearby, with no one knowing the place of his grave. The town of Nebo is also among the cities allotted to and later mentioned in oracles against in and .
