What and where is this?
The name Moreh designates two distinct geographical features in the Bible. The Plain (or Oak) of Moreh near is the first place halted after entering , where God appeared to him and promised the land to his descendants, and where Abraham built an altar (Genesis 12:6–7); later buried foreign gods under the oak at Shechem in the same vicinity (Genesis 35:4). The Hill of Moreh is a separate elevation near the Valley: in Judges 7:1 's small band camped at the spring of while the vast host was encamped to the north by the Hill of Moreh, setting the scene for God's dramatic reduction of Gideon's army before his victory.
