Lo Debar was a town in east of the . After the deaths of Saul and , — Jonathan's crippled son — was brought there for safety by son of Ammiel (2 9:4–5). When sought to show kindness to any surviving member of Saul's house for Jonathan's sake, he sent and brought Mephibosheth out of Lo Debar to , restoring to him all the land of Saul and granting him a place at the royal table. Lo Debar is also mentioned in 6:13 in a taunt against Israel, where it may carry a wordplay on its name meaning 'nothing.'
