Who or what is this?
The Kishon is a river that drains the Valley and flows westward through the Plain of Esdraelon to the Mediterranean near . It figures in two dramatic moments of deliverance: in Judges 4–5, the forces of are overwhelmed near its banks when God throws them into confusion before and , and the poetic Song of Deborah celebrates how the torrent of Kishon swept the enemy away. Centuries later, after 's contest with the prophets of on Mount Carmel, he commands the people to seize the four hundred and fifty prophets, and they are brought down to the brook Kishon and executed there (1 Kings 18:40).
