What and where is this?

Jokneam lay at the western mouth of the Valley near , controlling an important pass between the coastal plain and the interior. Joshua 12:22 lists its king among those defeated by Israel, and Joshua 19:11 places it on the border of Zebulun. In Joshua 21:34 it is allotted to the Merarite clan of with its suburbs. Its position astride major trade and military routes gave it enduring strategic importance, and later references in texts confirm it as a well-known landmark throughout the ancient Near East.
