What and where is this?
The name Janoah appears to refer to two distinct locations in the Bible. Joshua 16:6–7 mentions a Janoah on the eastern border of Ephraim, indicating a settlement in the central highlands. A second Janoah, in the north, appears in 2 Kings 15:29 alongside , Abel-Beth-Maachah, Kedesh, and as cities of Naphtali depopulated when king of carried their inhabitants captive — a significant moment in the fall of the northern kingdom. The two occurrences are generally treated as different places sharing the same name.
