Who or what is this?
Italy appears in the New Testament primarily in connection with 's journey to under custody, narrated in Acts 27–28. The centurion escorts Paul aboard an Alexandrian ship and, after the famous shipwreck at , they eventually reach on the Italian coast, where Paul finds brothers in the faith before completing the journey to Rome. Italy is also mentioned in Acts 10:1 as the homeland of , the centurion of the Italian cohort at . In the closing greetings of the Letter to the (13:24), 'they of Italy' send their greetings, suggesting either a destination or a group of Italian traveling with the author.
