Who or what is this?
Ibleam is listed in Judges 1:27 among the cities that the tribe of failed to drive out, so that the Canaanites continued to live there among them. The city appears again in 2 Kings 9:27, where the mortally wounded King Ahaziah of , struck by 's forces, fled toward and died — the text notes he was smitten at the ascent of Gur beside Ibleam. The city's location in the Valley corridor made it strategically significant for movement between the coast and the interior, which explains its appearance in both the conquest record and a royal assassination narrative.
