A fertile plateau region east of the Sea of and south of , mentioned in 47:16–18 in the visionary description of the boundaries of a restored Israel. In Ezekiel's prophetic geography, Hauran is cited as part of the northeastern border of the land, where it adjoins Damascus. The region is otherwise identified with the territory of and is known for its volcanic basalt landscape and agricultural productivity. It appears only in this prophetic passage in the Bible.
