Who or what is this?
A spring or well in the Valley, near the foot of Mount , remembered as the place where 's army camped before confronting the (Judges 7). It was beside the spring of Harod that God directed Gideon to reduce his army, first from twenty-two thousand to ten thousand by dismissing the fearful, and then from ten thousand to three hundred by the test of how they drank the water. Those three hundred who lapped from their hands were chosen for the night raid that routed the Midianite host. The spring gave its name to two of 's mighty men who were natives of the area, called Harodies in 2 23.
