A city or district in listed alongside and the river in 2 Kings 17 and 2 Kings 18 as one of the places where the king settled the deported from the northern kingdom after the fall of around 722 BC. The same grouping appears in 1 Chronicles 5 in the account of the Transjordanian tribes carried away by the Assyrians.
