Who or what is this?
A small Aramean kingdom located northeast of the Sea of , east of the , which was not driven out during the conquest and remained as a neighbor to Israel. Its significance in the narrative of centers on , the daughter of its king Talmai, whom David took as a wife; she bore him and Tamar (2 3). After Absalom murdered his half-brother , he fled to Geshur and lived with his maternal grandfather Talmai for three years before arranged his return to (2 Samuel 13–14). Geshur also appears among the unconquered territories listed in 13.
