Who or what is this?
Edrei is a city of , east of the , recorded as one of the royal cities of King Og (Num 21:33; Deut 1:4). It is the site of the battle where and Israel defeated Og, the last of the , whose iron bedstead was famously noted as nine cubits long (Deut 3:1–11). After the conquest, Edrei fell within the territory allotted to the half-tribe of (Josh 12:4; 13:31). Numbers 32:3, 37 also associate the nearby town of Dibon-gad with the same general region.
