Who or what is this?
Chinneroth (also spelled Kinnereth) designates a city in the territory of Naphtali as well as the body of water known as the Sea of Chinneroth or Sea of Kinnereth — the same lake called the Sea of in the New Testament. 11:2 and 12:3 reference it as part of the geographic setting for the northern coalition that Joshua defeated. The city of Chinneroth was among the places attacked by Ben-hadad king of at the request of Asa of (1 Kgs 15:20). The sea forms the eastern boundary reference in several tribal allotment descriptions.
