The tribe of subsequently rebuilt Beon (also referred to as Meon in Numbers 32:38, suggesting a renaming to avoid the deity name Baal), along with and other towns. Outside of this passage, Beon receives no further narrative mention, and its identification with Baal Meon connects it to oracles against in 25 and 48.
