Who or what is this?
A well in the wilderness whose location is not precisely identified, mentioned in Numbers 21:16–18 as an encampment of Israel during the wilderness journey. The LORD told to gather the people and he would give them water, and Israel celebrated with the "Song of the Well": "Spring up, O well; sing ye unto it." The brief passage celebrates God's provision of water in the desert, and the place is simply called ("well") from the event. It is distinguished from Beer-sheba and Beer-lahai-roi, being a wilderness campsite rather than a named settlement.
