A village in situated on the road from descending toward the , east of the . Bahurim is the home of son of , who comes out cursing and throwing stones as the king flees Jerusalem during 's rebellion (2 16:5–13). David's messengers and Ahimaaz hide in a well at Bahurim when Absalom's servant searches for them (2 Samuel 17:18). The village is also mentioned as the hometown of Azmaveth son of Adiel (1 Chronicles 11:33) and as one of the towns associated with Ish-bosheth's followers.
