Zimran is the first named of the six sons born to by his wife , whom Abraham married after the death of . The sons are listed in Genesis 25 and again in 1 Chronicles 1. Abraham sent Zimran and his brothers away eastward with gifts while he was still living, so that they would not compete with for the inheritance.
