Who or what is this?
Shimri was a of the family of Elizaphan who participated in the temple-cleansing that King ordered at the beginning of his reign, as part of the king's sweeping religious reforms (2 Chron. 29:13). He and his fellow Levites sanctified themselves, entered the temple, and carried out the unclean things they found there into the Valley. The text lists him among those who responded promptly to Hezekiah's call to restore proper worship. No other details about him appear in the biblical record.
