He appears repeatedly in Numbers, presenting the tribal offering on the fifth day of the tabernacle dedication (Num. 7:36–41), commanding the Simeonite contingent in the census and march order (Num. 1:6; 2:12; 10:19). His name recurs throughout these ceremonial passages as the consistent representative of Simeon among the tribal chiefs.
