The chief official of who hosts and his companions for three days after their shipwreck on the island. His father is bedridden with fever and dysentery, and Paul prays, lays hands on him, and heals him. News of the healing draws others on the island to come for healing, and the Maltese honor the travelers and supply their needs when they depart.
