Who or what is this?
Phurah was the personal servant of the judge, mentioned in Judges 7. On the night before the battle against the , God told Gideon to go down to the enemy camp if he was afraid, and Gideon took Phurah with him. The two of them crept to the edge of the camp and overheard a Midianite soldier recounting a dream—a barley loaf tumbling into the camp and flattening a tent—which his companion interpreted as a sign of Gideon's coming victory. This encounter strengthened Gideon's faith and he immediately returned to lead his three hundred men into battle.
