Who is this?
Pethahiah is named in 1 Chronicles 24 as the head of the nineteenth of the twenty-four priestly courses established by King for the rotation of temple service. These courses were determined by lot to ensure orderly worship, and each division served in the sanctuary in turn. Pethahiah's course would later have been the basis for scheduling his descendants' temple duties under the Mosaic system. He appears only in this organizational list.
