Who or what is this?
Nebuzaradan was the captain of 's imperial guard who led the forces that completed the destruction of in 586 BC. He burned , the royal palace, and the houses of the city, broke down the walls, and deported the remaining population to , leaving only the poorest of the land as vinedressers and farmers (2 Kgs 25:8–12; Jer 52:12–16). The book of records that Nebuzaradan specifically sought out the prophet Jeremiah and, on Nebuchadnezzar's orders, freed him and placed him under the care of rather than taking him to Babylon (Jer 39:11–14; 40:1–5).
