Who or what is this?
Prophet from the otherwise unknown town of Elkosh whose book is given over entirely to the coming downfall of , more than a century after 's mission to the city. He opens with a hymn to Yahweh as a jealous and avenging God slow to anger but great in power, then paints the capital's collapse in cascading scenes of chariots, flooded gates, and plundered treasures. The oracle ends with the nations clapping over the wound of a king whose evil had passed continually upon them.
