Mijamin was a priest during the reign of who, when lots were cast to organize the Levitical courses for temple service, was assigned the leadership of the sixth priestly division (1 Chr 24:9). The twenty-four divisions rotated service at the sanctuary according to this Davidic arrangement, which the New Testament echoes when Zechariah serves in his division.
