Who or what is this?
Micaiah son of Imlah was a prophet of the LORD active during the reign of king of Israel. When Ahab and Jehoshaphat of consulted prophets about attacking Ramoth-gilead, four hundred court prophets predicted success; but Micaiah, whom Ahab admitted he hated because he never prophesied good for him, first spoke ironically then delivered a vision of Israel scattered as sheep without a shepherd and of a lying spirit sent among the false prophets. For this he was struck by the prophet and imprisoned on reduced rations until Ahab's return. Ahab did not return — he was killed in the battle as Micaiah had foretold (1 Kgs 22; 2 Chr 18).
