Who or what is this?

Merari was the third son of Levi, whose descendants became one of the three main Levitical clans. During the wilderness period the Merarites were assigned the heaviest structural components of the tabernacle — its boards, bars, pillars, and bases — and transported them on four ox-drawn carts (Num 3:36–37; 4:29–33; 7:8).
