A follower of from the town of Magdala, from whom records that seven demons had been cast out. She travels with the women who support Jesus' ministry and stands among those watching the crucifixion. All four Gospels place her at the tomb on Easter morning, and in John she is the first to encounter the risen Jesus, who sends her to announce to the disciples.
