Two angels lead him, his wife, and his daughters out of Sodom before its destruction; his wife looks back and becomes a pillar of salt. In a cave near his daughters bear sons by him who become the ancestors of the and , and 2 remembers him as a righteous man distressed by the wickedness around him.
