Who or what is this?
was a sixth-generation descendant of through the line of Enoch, Irad, Mehujael, and Methusael. He is the first man recorded in scripture as practicing polygamy, having two wives named Adah and Zillah. By Adah he fathered Jabal and Jubal, ancestors of nomadic herders and musicians, and by Zillah he fathered Tubal-cain, a craftsman of bronze and iron, and a daughter named . Lamech is best known for the violent boast he addresses to his wives in Genesis 4, in which he claims to have killed a man for wounding him and a young man for striking him, inverting Cain's sevenfold protection into a seventy-sevenfold vengeance.
