Who or what is this?

Kohath was the second of the three who accompanied 's family into Egypt, listed in Genesis 46 and in the genealogies of Exodus, Numbers, and 1 Chronicles. His descendants, the , formed one of the three main Levitical clans and were assigned the most sacred duties in the tabernacle: carrying the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, and the other holy vessels — always covered, since touching or even seeing them was forbidden. and were descendants of Kohath through his son Amram, making the Kohathite line the priestly branch from which the Aaronic priesthood descended.
