Who or what is this?

A centurion of the Augustan Cohort entrusted with conveying and other prisoners from toward in Acts 27. He treats Paul kindly, allowing him to visit friends at , and later overrules the soldiers' plan to kill the prisoners after the shipwreck off in order to save Paul. His protection enables Paul to reach Rome alive.
