Who or what is this?

Servant and successor of , originally named Hoshea, who leads Israel's troops against at and ascends partway with Moses. With he brings back a faithful report from spying out , and the two of them alone of their generation enter the land. After Moses' death on he leads Israel across the , captures and Ai, defeats coalitions of kings, and divides the land among the tribes. At he renews the covenant and famously challenges Israel to choose whom they will serve.
