Who is this?

Son of a prostitute driven from his father's house by his half-brothers, who becomes the leader of a band of outlaws in the land of Tob. When threatens , the elders call him back to lead them, and he negotiates with the king of Ammon over disputed territory east of the . He vows to sacrifice whatever first comes out of his house if granted victory, and the vow falls on his only daughter; he later puts forty-two thousand Ephraimites to the sword at the Jordan fords using the shibboleth test.
