Who is this?

A high priest of whose long career was defined by his courageous preservation of the Davidic line. When Queen seized power and tried to kill all the royal heirs, Jehoiada and his wife Jehosheba hid the infant Joash in for six years. In the seventh year Jehoiada organized the palace guard and to crown Joash king, and Athaliah was put to death. He then led a covenant renewal, destroyed the temple of , and oversaw the collection and use of funds to repair the LORD's temple. He lived to the age of 130, was buried with the kings in honor, and Scripture records that Israel did right in the days of Jehoiada (2 Kings 11–12; 2 Chronicles 22–24).
