He is carried to with the queen mother, his officials, the craftsmen, and the treasures of , and the prophet pronounces a bitter oracle that none of his offspring will sit on 's throne. Decades later Evil-merodach of Babylon releases him from prison, gives him a seat above the other captive kings, and provides for him at the royal table for the rest of his life.
