Who or what is this?
Brother of who does not believe during the earthly ministry but is named by as a witness to the risen Christ. He emerges as a leading figure in the church, presides over the Jerusalem council in Acts 15, and renders the judgment that Gentile believers need not be circumcised. Paul calls him a pillar alongside and John, and the New Testament letter of James is traditionally attributed to him.
