Who or what is this?
king of , who reigned in , is presented in Judges 4 as a ruler who oppressed Israel for twenty years after an earlier period of unfaithfulness. His army was commanded by and included nine hundred iron chariots. The prophetess called to muster an army and meet Sisera at Mount Tabor, where God threw the forces into panic. Sisera fled on foot and was killed by the wife of , who drove a tent-peg through his temples. After Sisera's death, Israel pressed harder against Jabin until they destroyed him. Whether this Jabin is a descendant of the Jabin slain by or a reoccupation of the name and throne is not addressed by the text.
